Gtaw welder — Monroe County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Monroe County, New York. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Own basic hand tools and PPE Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
