Precision welder — The Scottish Borders

Now hiring: we are hiring a precision welder in The Scottish Borders, Scotland. You will work on an industrial construction site. You will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters. Ideal candidate: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift.
