Garment machinist — Prince William County

Join our team: we are hiring a garment machinist in Prince William County, Virginia. You will be based in a textile and apparel unit. The role involves topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line Meals and transport allowance provided.
