Shakeout operator — Logan County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Logan County, Illinois. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal $5,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
