Immediate opening: foundry labourer (Louisiana)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Saint Martin Parish, Louisiana. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Day-to-day duties: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
