Tailor machinist — DeKalb County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a tailor machinist in DeKalb County, Illinois. You will be based at a busy garment factory. You will meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. Ideal candidate: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams Full-time, day shift.
