Overlocker operator — Wayne County

Immediate opening: we are hiring an overlocker operator in Wayne County, New York. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams Day to day you will sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line.
