Foundry labourer — Linn County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Linn County, Iowa. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day-to-day duties: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
