Ideal candidate: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings The role involves weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle.
