Tig welder — Cayuga County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a tig welder in Cayuga County, New York. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Requirements: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Your main tasks: • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator Full-time with occasional weekends.
