Die-casting operator wanted in McCreary County

Now hiring: we are hiring a die-casting operator in McCreary County, Kentucky. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring.
