Sewing machine operator — Nelson County

Now hiring: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Nelson County, Virginia. You will work in a small denim manufacturing unit. You should have: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown Day-to-day duties: • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go 5+ years on the tools preferred.
