Now hiring: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Esan Central, Edo. The job is at a shipyard. On the job you will handle: • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks You should have: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Rotating shifts.
