Milling machine operator — Newport

Now hiring: we are hiring a milling machine operator in Newport, Wales. You will work at a busy machine shop. Day to day you will measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges; monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters; apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed; mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square; machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing; run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces • 2-3 years' hands-on milling experience 2+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends.
