Furnace operator — Champaign County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Champaign County, Illinois. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Day to day you will apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 5+ years on the tools preferred.
