Great opportunity: we are hiring a machinist in Manchester, England. Day to day you will topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. Requirements: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens 5+ years on the tools preferred. £2,650 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
