Fettler — Lowndes County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Lowndes County, Mississippi. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Your main tasks: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling We offer $6,500 per project plus benefits.
