Immediate opening: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Essex, England. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens The role involves stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching.
