Now hiring: we are hiring a crane rigger in Burke County, North Carolina. On the job you will handle: • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio Requirements: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
