Die-casting operator — Pike County

Now hiring: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Pike County, Pennsylvania. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Day to day you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
