Immediate opening: blocklayer (California)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Trinity County, California. You will work at a residential building site. What we are looking for: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day The role involves: • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation Full-time with occasional weekends.
