Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Paikoro, Niger State. You will be based on a structural steel site. You should have: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Day to day you will grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut.
