Now hiring: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Presque Isle County, Michigan. You will work in a textile and apparel unit. Day-to-day duties: • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching Full-time with occasional weekends.
