You should have: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep The role involves: • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts $4,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
