Core maker • Jos East, Plateau State

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in Jos East, Plateau State. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day-to-day duties: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
