Shakeout operator • Smith County, Tennessee

Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Smith County, Tennessee. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards The role involves prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Pay around $3,500 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
