Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Grant County, Arkansas. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
