Now hiring: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Miami County, Indiana. On the job you will handle: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Full-time with occasional weekends.
