Now hiring: we are hiring a butcher in Shagamu, Ogun State. You will work in a supermarket meat department. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter The role involves: • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
