Immediate opening: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Somerset, England. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. The role involves: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. £2,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
