Horticulturist — Luce County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a horticulturist in Luce County, Michigan. You will work in a public park. The role involves: • Maintain compost heaps and the potting shed • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Water beds and lawns and set up drip irrigation lines • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings • Prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers • Weed flower beds and borders by hand and with a hoe What we are looking for: • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • An eye for detail and a tidy, well-kept finish Full-time with occasional weekends.
