Now hiring: we are hiring a fettler in Wabash County, Illinois. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. The role involves prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
