Furnace operator wanted in Northampton County

Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Northampton County, North Carolina. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Basic grinding and fettling skills Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
