Furnace operator — Catawba County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Catawba County, North Carolina. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day to day you will apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings. 4+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
