You should have: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Day to day you will tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size.
