Blocklayer — Clay County

Now hiring: we are hiring a blocklayer in Clay County, Kentucky. Day to day you will pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses. You should have: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Pay around $3,500 per month, based on your experience.
