Vacancy available: we are hiring a fettler in Harney County, Oregon. On a typical shift you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Rotating shifts. $3,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
