Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in Wheeler County, Nebraska. Ideal candidate: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day-to-day duties: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Overtime paid at a premium rate.
