Immediate opening: we are hiring an offshore rigger in Harris County, Texas. The job is at a container port. Requirements: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles On a typical shift you will tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle. Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
