Vacuum press operator — Makoda

You should have: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine Day-to-day duties: • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron Rotating shifts.
