Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances The role involves: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
