Fettler — Pamlico County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fettler in Pamlico County, North Carolina. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
