Vacancy available: shakeout operator (Alaska)

Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Bethel Census Area, Alaska. You will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
