Immediate opening: foundry labourer (Connecticut)

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region, Connecticut. On a typical shift you will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry 2+ years on the tools preferred.
