Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick mason in Moultrie County, Illinois. You will work on a new-build development. Requirements: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one Your main tasks: • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. $3,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
