Furnace operator wanted in Durham County

Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Durham County, North Carolina. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Your main tasks: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Pay around $4,200 per month, based on your experience.
