Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Isoko South, Delta State. The job is at a busy sheet-metal workshop. You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height Day to day you will grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding.
