Steel erection rigger — Mitchell County

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Mitchell County, North Carolina. You will work on an offshore oil and gas platform. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear On a typical shift you will set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear. 4+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
