Furnace operator — White County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in White County, Georgia. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Six days a week, one day off.
