Foundry worker • Powhatan County, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Powhatan County, Virginia. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You will operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
